When to hire a Consulting CTO ?

Many technology startups need more than hired software developers to get going.  Without an experienced technical co-founder, business founders get swamped in the myriad of options and details needed to develop and deploy a working product. Ask yourself.
  • Is my product more than a simple website and store?
  • Do I need an "App" that runs natively on iOS or Android?
  • Does my product include physical hardware or need to interface to physical hardware such as fitness trackers, home automation devices or any other gadget?
  • Does my app need to use the phone's hardware in a unique way? For example, does it need location or motion tracking, vision or audio?
  • Does my app implement any sort of algorithm,  intellectual property or require an estimation engine derived from AI and Machine learning?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the expertise needed to develop your product likely requires experienced engineering and a variety of skillsets. The typical software development consultant, local or off shore, big or small firm will not have all of the skills to develop your product.

What can a Consulting CTO do ?

  • Tell you what your product will cost to build and how long that will take.
  • Determine feasibility and cost of product features to allow you to prioritize and define your MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
  • Help you to hire the right team or find agencies that are competent and have the right skill set and culture for you.
  • Manage your development team.
  • Develop a sustainable and scalable architecture that works for your product.
